“Throughout my lacrosse career, I have pushed through the pain and put in the extra work to make my family proud. The day I was able to tell my grandmother that I would be representing Israel in the World Cup was incredible. My grandmother, a Holocaust survivor, has always had a strong connection with Judaism and Israel and she could not be more proud.
I now call Ashkelon home, but I remember last year when I was standing next to the Western Wall for the first time, overcome with emotion. I felt this incredible connection to my heritage. This is something that is so easily lost in the chaos of everyday life, but it is important to step back and remember where you came from and keep the tradition alive.
I am competing in honor of The Family Nest in Ashkelon. This charity is all about women empowering women and supporting new mothers on their journey out of desperation. The program is so successful that women who have graduated from the program turn around and volunteer to assist new members. The Family Nest brings women out of depression and gives them the confidence to live successful and joyful lives. As a member of the Ashkelon community, this city and the people in it are close to my heart.” – BN
Come back every day to make sure you meet the whole team!
