With the world games on everyone’s mind, I’d Like to shift gears a bit to introduce you to some of the players on the Israel Lacrosse Men’s National Team 46-man roster.

I am blessed with the opportunity to play lacrosse with so many talented players and more importantly, incredible people. I’d like to start with one of my roommates.

Seth is midfielder currently playing for the Ashqelon Premier Lacrosse Club in Ashqelon, Israel. He was recently named to the 2014 Israel Men’s National Team 46 man roster to play in Denver, CO this summer.

Seth hails from Waterbury, Connecticut where he started playing lacrosse at St. Margaret’s McTernan Middle School in the 7th grade. He went on to play at The Gunnery Prep School and would finish his scholastic lacrosse career playing for the Whittier College Poets, graduating in 2010.

Seth now serves as Program and Community Development Director for the Israel Lacrosse Association. He works in Israel to develop the game of Israel while coaching youth players. When asked about his expectations for Team Israel and the World Championships Seth seemed to be certain of “fierce competition from the opening whistle.” He also noted that he expected the altitude to be a major factor that would affect all teams.

Seth is hoping for “the experience of a lifetime,” and is excited to represent his country.

I asked Seth if he had a favorite teammate, and without much thinking at all he named one of his Team Israel teammates, Yochanan Katz.

He referred to Yochanan as a “family member, even though it’s not blood.” Seth has become very fond of Katz’s playing style. They have played on the same field several times, both as teammates and opponents.

He [Katz] embodies everything that lacrosse is about. He is one of the toughest players on the field, he has great vision, rides hard, and scraps all the time. Off the field he is one of the most humble mensches I know.” – Seth on Katz.

Seth is a loyal and caring teammate, and an awesome dude to hang with. He is a hard-working two-way middie who always wants to get better, and loves the game. I am lucky to call him my teammate.

Stay tuned to get to know more of the guys.

Yalla, Israel Lacrosse.
