For my first post, I would like to welcome any and all readers to the Team Israel lacrosse blog.

On this page I will be posting updates about the Israeli National lacrosse team and their progress towards the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships. Here you will be able to see pictures and videos of the Israeli team practicing and training as a unit, and also competing against one another in the Israel Premier League.

The league is comprised of 4 teams: Netanya, Jerusalem, Ashkelon, and Tel Aviv. Each team has a core group of players with occasional “loaner” players that come from the United States for a short period of time.

I will also be reporting on the advancement of the popular youth development program that the National team players have started in several cities of Israel. The team is passionate about acting as ambassadors for the game of lacrosse. We want to spread our knowledge and love of the game to the diverse demographic that comprises the youth of Israel.

With programs setup in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Ashkelon, Ramla, and budding programs in Jerusalem and Netanya, youth development has a bright future, I will post videos and pictures to keep you updated every step of the way.

For now, the country of Israel, and more importantly Israel Lacrosse, is a new concept for me. My love for the game is what led me to volunteer to write this blog. I see where this game is going and I can see that there is serious potential for its growth in Israel. I couldn’t be happier seeing the young players in my homeland continue to get better each and every day we practice. I am happy to be a part of something that is much bigger than I am, and I am lucky to have such an opportunity.

Check back to this page daily for your fix of the Israeli National team, and all other things lacrosse related that are going down in the Holy Land.
